I, The Mask

In Flames

Breathe In Life

I don’t do many reviews. The reason being: I’m not a very critical kind of person, so it’s hard for me to point out flaws in releases, or chew out an artists hard work. The few times I’m tempted to write a review is in case a release doesn’t show any signs of weakness to me. I, The Mask by In Flames is such a release.

I first learned about the band many years ago while developing a website that incorporated live play data from Last.FM, and it turned out some album named ‘Come Clarity’ was in a lot of users’ top lists. From my first play, I was sold on the In Flames sound. Even though I loved that album, their later work didn’t do as much for me.

The power of beards

I, The Mask made me a believer once more. This album, as I pointed out, to me has no flaws, and hs been on heavy rotation from the moment I picked it up. Easily my new favorite In Flames album to date, and the best release this year so far.
