The Ride Majestic

Soilwork

If you were to Google for “underappreciated bands”, chances are Soilwork is one of the top results (I haven’t checked actually, but they should be). This Swedish melodic death metal band has been around since the mid nineties and somehow never made it to the big time. Even though their musical qualities keep growing with each release.

With “The Ride Majestic” they once again take a giant leap forward. The Soilwork we hear on this album is recognizable for those familiar with their earlier work, yet very different at the same time. It’s both more melodic (where it comes to the use of vocals and the slower melody parts) and more aggressive in certain areas than their previous double release “The Living Infinite” (2013).

If you know and love the band, you might have to get used to this release because it’s a different kind of animal. But you will learn to love it

If you don’t know the band, shame on you. Pick up “The Ride Majestic” and put it on heavy rotation. Say hello to a new friend.
