In the meantime it has become a good tradition, the Metal Hammer Paradise in the holiday resort at the Weißenhäuser Strand. The combination of a short break at the Baltic Sea, wellness and heavy music is unique. And all the accommodations for the fourth edition of the festival have been booked for weeks. At the moment there are only a few remaining tickets for Friday evening.
And the Friday is definitely worth it, with Apocalyptica as the headliner at the Maximum Metal Stage in the tent. I wanted to experience the band already live, now it finally works. There are the Pretty Maids from Denmark with singer Ronnie Atkins (among others also Avantasia). And Metal institution Udo Dirkschneider presents again hits from the Accept times. In the Baltic Ballroom you can look forward to the Doom pioneers Pentagram as well as Power Metal by Brainstorm. And finally there is Pagan Metal with Equilibrium. From my point of view, Almanac, the new band of the guitar virtuoso Victor Smolski (ex-Rage) in the Riff-Alm is also considerably.
Saturday's headliner Saxon were already present at the premiere in 2013. Now they come back to the big stage in the tent. And I also remember the special "Denim And Leather" show at the Mo 'Club in Southampton. But before it's time, Uncle Tom, Iced Earth and Schandmaul are allowed to rock the stage. In the Baltic Ballroom you can have a portion of Power Metal to the ears, Primal Fear will shred the stage in the Ballroom. Before that you can enjoy traditional Heavy Metal with RAM from Sweden. The final point in the ballroom is then Blues Pills. You can get enchanted by frontwoman Elin Larsson. Heavy Metal will also be presented in the Riff Alm, so by Stallion and Erik Kohen shows all interested fans, what is meant by Doom Pop.
On both days you can also celebrate after the end of the shows, at the after show party in Witthüs. There is also a wide-ranging supporting program, so there are autograph sessions, workshops and readings. And in the covered gallery, a maximum metal market is built up, where you can buy everything. From CD's to leather clothes for metalheads there is sold just about anything your heart desires.
