Each month in our social section, we will shine our light on some of the faces in our ever growing legion of metalheads and the members of our community. It's because of their posts, pictures and support that we exist. Time to meet some of them!

Matthew Ryan

I'm Matt, I'm 29, and I'm from Point Pleasant, NJ, but currently live in Las Vegas, NV. My favorite album of all time is "The Legacy" by Testament. I love using my Facebook outlet, "THRASHMANIA\m/", to spread underground Thrash metal to the masses. Metal is an important thing in my life and I'm really happy to be involved with the Metal community.

Leonardo Sabastian Rojas

My name is Leonardo, I'm 38 years old, and I'm from Buenos Aires in Argentina. I got into Metal because of my love for all music loud and heavy; bands like Iron Maiden, Dio, Motorhead, Black Sabbath, Manowar, Judas Priest, Metallica, etc. A few of my favorite bands are Iron MaidenAlmafuerte from Argentina, and Sepultura from South America. My favorite vocalists in Metal are Rob Halford, Lemmy and Ozzy. I leave my greetings to all the Metalheads of the world!

Inge Luijendijk

Hi, my name is Inge and I live in the Netherlands. I just celebrated my 50th birthday, and I’m the mom of two Metalheads age 15 and 16. I’m married to a Metal drummer, so as you can imagine music is a big part of our life. I've worked with and around musicians most of my adult life, but now I only take pics at gigs as a hobby. I always loved Alternative music—from Punk to Deathcore and back—and won’t limit myself to any one genre. An open mind is a joy forever! Besides music, I’m a dog lover and as such a very outdoorsy person. Nothing makes me happier than being in the fields, camera at hand enjoying life. Well... except for maybe going to a great show!

Vicky Penguin Mccarter

My name is Vicky and my favorite band is Slipknot. I like listening to Metalcore, Death Metal and Thrash Metal—but all Metal is good! The first Metal band I ever liked was Black Sabbath.

Amber Joy

Hello, Metal On Loud Magazine, my name is Vivian Vorhese. Some of you readers may know me, and some of you may not, but for the ones who don't, I'm here to help you get to know me! I am in a Metal band called Doublecross, I'm a vocalist and I have been singing for 20 years. I also have a couple of modeling groups that I own as well, and I may be working on a third one soon. I can be very loud and I don't really need a microphone for some occasions. Our band is planning to work on a demo very soon. I'm an optimistic single mother of two and I am 28 years old. I am trying to make my dreams come true!

I love Metal music I have been a fan for a very long time; Metal is a passion of mine. I am a licensed Life and Health Insurance producer but I would gladly give that up and go on tour! I was born and raised in Virginia but I currently live in Oklahoma, however, I plan to move out of here ASAP! I like to road trip with my children and show them things that I never got the opportunity to see. I am not into the music for fame; I want to do it because it's what I love, and I want to provide the greatest life possible for my children. You can find me on Facebook pretty quickly—I have a Like Page and a Profile Page! I am also a writer, photographer, artist, and I occasionally model here and there. I don't try to be badass, it just comes naturally when you are a Sagittarius.

A few of my favorite bands are Type O Negative, Black Sabbath, Pantera, Down, Superjoint Ritual, King Parrot, Lamb of God, King 810, Slipknot, Black Label Society, Deftones, Tool, Rob Zombie, Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir. I have many more but that's just part of my list. I'm passionate about lyrics, and if I hear something that makes me want to immediately get into a mosh pit, then I'm stoked. If I hear something that makes me just feel the emotions from the artist, then I admire that as well—I do that! Every song I write or sing has a deep amount of emotion and passion in it, no matter if I wrote it or not! When I get the opportunity to sing in front of thousands of people I am going to make sure they want to come back again by putting onone hell of a killer show! I'm excited to be a part of Metal because Metal fans are the best fans! Keep your horns up, stay heavy and look out for Vivian Vorhese! Thanks for reading! Much love, Vivian Vorhese.

Kim Weber

My name is Kim, I'm 35 years old, and I currently live in North Dakota. I've been a metalhead since I was 11 when I got into artists such as Megadeth, Metallica and Slayer. Currently, my favorite bands are Megadeth, Slayer, Amorphis, Amon Amarth, Paradise Lost, Ravenscroft, Serpent Underground, Demon Boy, and Tool. I play a little bass guitar, but my main hobby is drawing and painting. I enjoy drawing portraits of rock stars and have even sold a couple of them! I also gave one I did of Alice Cooper to him when I met him at Dragon Con 2012 in Atlanta! Other hobbies of mine are gaming, cosplay, collecting action figures, and I have a small but growing collection of autographs that I got from concerts or were sent to me by my good friend, Demon Boy.

Kevin Heath

Owner of "Keeper Magazine" and a solo artist going by the name Minister Of Blasphemy (M.O.B), I've been in the music industry since I was 10. The first time I headlined the "Whiskey" [a famous music venue in Hollywood] I was 14, and I've since toured the country and had albums worldwide. I was taught at a young age about the business side of music and am probably one of the few musicians who enjoys the business side of music as well as performing.

Chantal Nitsche

My Name is Chantal, I am 19 years old and live in Germany. I listen to quite a lot of Rock and Metal bands. Some of my favorites are Avenged Sevenfold, Slipknot, Linkin Park, Evanescence and New Years Day.

Jaymi Lea Sanders

My name is Jaymi Lea Mathieson. I just turned 31 years old on October 26th. I grew up on a variety of music, and my dad introduced me to most of it, starting from artists such as Dio, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Pantera, Van Halen, Cinderella, Poison, Metallica, Iron Maiden, Mötley Crüe, Guns 'N' Roses, Def Leppard, Judas Priest, Alice In Chains, AC/DC, Whitesnake, Aerosmith, Jimi Hendrix, The Scorpions, Twisted Sister, and so many more. My favorite band of more than 14 years has actually been Avenged Sevenfold (R.I.P. Jimmy [The Rev]). I know many people don't consider them Metal, but many Metal bands/musicians happen to inspire them.

Music is my life. If I were to lose any of my senses, I've always said I'd want to keep my hearing so I can listen to a beautiful guitar riff, a strong and amazing voice, and rock out. Music is a great escape in every way, shape, and form. It makes you feel euphoric.

"Music drives you. It wakes you up, it gets you pumping, and, at the end of the day, the correct tune will chill you down." - Dimebag Darrell (R.I.P.)

Jessyka Ponce De Leon

Hello my name is Jessyka, and I was born in Berlin-Pankow, Germany. I love Black Metal, Death Metal, and Thrash. I enjoy making Ambient music, playing guitar, keyboards, and bass, painting, and creating album art. I am also sometimes involved in side projects for bands as well. I am a mother of one child, and I enjoy the outdoors!

Amanda Blackie Law Weeks

My name is Amanda, and I'm a single 40 year old from the UK. I'm into all kinds of Metal—from Soft Rock to Black Metal—and I love piercings, tattoos, reptiles, motorbikes, and horror.

Luke Kegley

Hi, my name's Luke Kegley and I'm from Raleigh, North Carolina, USA. I guess I should start off by saying I was born in Russia and was adopted from there when I was 3, and I've been living in North Carolina ever since. I recently turned 21 and have been listening to Metal since the age of 12, listening to it as much now—if not more—than I ever have! Before Metal became my "thing" in life, I was really into superheroes and comic books such as Spider-Man, Batman, Daredevil and so on—Spidey being my favorite ever since I noticed the correlation between his character (Peter Parker) and myself. I was indeed an outcast like the character and was put down, never really fitting in. I wasn't a nerd per say, but I found nobody else gave a shit about my interests. I had everything Spider-Man: toys, comics, posters, blanket, video-games, alarm-clock, the cartoon show—just everything you could imagine.

About the time of adolescence I suppose, my family was going through rough times just like anyone else (foreclosure, parents split, etc). Problems are problems and everybody's got them, so I'm definitely not putting myself in a place where someone can't relate. My friend, Holland, who I've known for more than a little bit over a decade, had gotten me into horror movies when I was in the 3rd grade or so, and from there YouTube was also just starting out. This was before Viacom came along and destroyed what Youtube was all about: the user... though, I'm not gonna get into any of that. Looking up my favorite fictional slashers—Jason Voorhees (Friday the 13th) and Michael Myers (Halloween)—many tribute/montage videos were made, compiling clips from the movies into one big video, and Metal music always seemed to be the background theme for a lot of these videos. My interest in horror just happened to help me get into Metal music. Now, I definitely wasn't getting into the major genres or bands at this point, I was just starting out you see.

Bands like Disturbed, Godsmack, Papa Roach, Mudvayne and such (the Alternative/Nu-Metal bands) were the acts I had gotten into. Let me fast track to later middle school. I was then getting into a weird phase of Metalcore, but had randomly discovered Death Metal acts such as The Berzerker, Kataklysm and Cannibal Corpse along the way as well. The only Black Metal band I knew at the time was Gorgoroth, but even then it was too much for me at the time. I wasn't religious or anything, but the "Satan" thing was a bit freaky at the time. I had met a guy named Dylan who also had an interest in the genre, and eventually we kind of traded each other bands. As in we would be like, "hey dude, listen to Meshuggah" or "man, listen to Children of Bodom" and such. Later on, high school comes around, and I'm now out of the whole Metalcore/Nu-Metal phase and have become a major "Death Metaller". I listened to bands such as Skinless, The Berzerker, Impaled, Gorerotted, Lord Gore, Katalepsy, and so many others. I couldn't get enough of Death Metal. Now, somewhere along the time of junior-senior year of high school, I wasn't exactly in the best frame of mind, nor was I "fun" to be around with. I kind of let myself go into a dark area of my life, losing much ambition in what I do and my interests were fading. I felt like Metal wasn't there for me anymore. Sooner or later, I picked my interest in cryptozoology and was totally enthralled by creatures like the Sasquatch, Mothman, The Jersey Devil, the Yeti and so on. This new interest eventually—somehow—got me into Black Metal music. Nowadays, I'd tell you I'm more of a Black Metaller than I am any other type of metalhead. I found myself interested in bands like Carpathian Forest and Burzum, eventually giving Gorgoroth another try as well.

Joesph Snel

My name is Joseph Snell, but I go by Joe. I'm located in California and I'm 22. I've been playing bass guitar since late middle school, but I've mostly been self-taught. My favorite bass guitar player is Geezer Butler from Black Sabbath, and I like to jam with friends every now and then. Most of all I just play because I enjoy playing, and I think that music should be enjoyable to a certain extent. Always remember to have fun when playing music!

Dio Garcia

I first heard Metal when I was 8 years old, and I now live, breathe and dream Metal Music. I find myself in a better world when I listen to it.

Beth Filth

My name is Elizabeth, I'm Mexican-American, and I was born in Syracuse, NY on 12/01/90. I'm a student and a mother, and my favorite music genres are Metal, Metal and more Metal! HAHA! Some of My favorite bands are Slayer, Testament, Destruction, Death, Vader, Obituary, Cryptopsy, Abysmal Dawn, Cannibal Corpse, Behemoth, Vital Remains, Belphegor, Satyricon, and many, many more.

Kina Garcia

My name is Kristie Garcia. I'm 34, I was born in Texas, and I now live in Idaho. I'm a mother of 8—all with my ex-husband, and I've been listening to Metal since I was around 9. My top 3 bands are SLAYERLamb of God and Cannibal Corpse. I love Metal and I made sure my kiddos love it as well. I only wish I hadn't missed out on so many concerts, but my kids come first, and my oldest son is taking me to my first concert ever... SLAYER!!! I'm very excited for the show next month! Hopefully people won't judge me and call me fake, or accuse me of being something I'm not—I'm definitely a Metal chick in a plastic world. I'm also hoping that one day I will start my own band. Whether it takes off or just remains local doesn't matter, I just want to show people the passion I have for Metal! \,,/.~_~.\,,/

Danielle Masek

I'm Danielle from Chicago, and I'm relatively new to Metal, though I've always liked heavy music. In fact I like many types of music. I'm an artist, a singer, and I enjoy doing digital portraits of musicians. So far I have done Katatonia, Gojira, NIN and Tori Amos. My favorite bands range from Katatonia and Gojira to Depeche Mode.
